Kodak Monitor
(1939-1948) The Kodak Monitors were high-quality folding roll film cameras . They came in two models: the Monitor Six-20 (for 620 film) and the Monitor Six-16 (for 616 film). These cameras are known for their solid construction and advanced features for their time, such as a pop-up viewfinder, automatic film spacing, and double exposure prevention. They lacked a rangefinder but included a waist-level reflecting finder. They also featured flash synchronization (from 1946) and offered various lens options, including Kodak Anastigmat lenses. Prices ranged from $48.50 to $66.00 at launch, with the Six-20 priced higher due to its better lens. The cameras were crafted with embossed leather and metal bodies, and their design was shared with the simpler Kodak Vigilant series.
