No 1A. Gift Kodak
(1930-1931) The No. 1A Gift Kodak, designed by Walter Dorwin Teague in the 1930s, was made with women in mind. It uses 116 film and features a meniscus achromatic lens. A special version of the No. 1A Pocket Kodak Junior, it was released for Christmas in 1930. The camera has a sleek brown leather cover, matching bellows, and a cool patterned lens panel. It came in a cedar box with a stylish art deco enamel design, also seen on the outer box. Only 10,000 units were made.
A collector’s note:
I’ve noticed a lot of these cameras have had their original brown bellows replaced with a black bellows so take notice if you want a fully original piece.
